After many years of eating the horrible pizza offered in the chestnut hill area, we finally switched to Tony's in Wyndmoor. How did we miss this?? Real pizza, real cheese and real sauce!! Go no further.... delicious!!

Don't order through GrubHub/Yelp! Just call and have Tony's deliver directly. It took almost 2 hours for us to get a simple cheese pizza and 2 small salads. They came after the estimated time. GrubHub said Tony's got my order at 5:43 but when I called Tony's they said they didn't get it until later than that. I don't have time to play the blame game, so if i order from here again I'll just try Tony's directly and see if that makes a difference. My first time using GrubHub and super-disappointing experience.
Pizza was ok- crust seemed good (arrived a little on the cooler-side, wasn't very hot). Salads typical nothing special -

A small place with big personality!
I have visited several pizza shops in the Northeast Philadelphia area and none even come close to Tony's. I was drawn to Tony's by the Yelp reviews but quickly learned for myself how good this place is. My father-in-law, who has lived here for 38 years didn't even know about this place, as it sits back a little and is between a home and a market. When we walked in, immediately we were greeted by Tony, the owner. He spoke with us like he had known us for years. As Tony tossed the dough in the back, yep, this is a legit pizza shop, we chatted and joked around. This is the kind of place you want to go to, where they make you feel like a long lost cousin that they've been waiting to find. That alone would keep me coming back to a place like this but now, onto the za!
The pizza is, in a word, great! In an age where everyone is either trying to be a chain conglomerate or the next gastro-scien-ologist who reinvents what isn't broken Tony's delivers on what we've all come to love, good ole fashioned corner-shop, mom and pop pizza! The dough is fresh and has a nice crust with a chewiness that is what dreams are made of. The sauce is flavored well but nothing to write home about. The cheese is more than adequate teetering on that line between did I order extra cheese and maybe next time I will try extra cheese. The great thing is though, it's not crazy greasy like you would expect! Trust me, I should know after four, ahem, slices. The toppings almost made me cry tears of joy; pepperoni was on every bite and the sausage was scattered liberally. For our healthier option we had onion, peppers, and sausage and again every bite was full of toppings. I can't wait to go back to Tony's both for the experience and the food!
If you are looking for pizza from the corner shop, like we gen-exers grew up with, Tony's is your spot! -

Ordered delivery of 2 hoagies via Yelp (Grubhub) and the order was delivered in half the expected time. Very good and much appreciated!

Always order from Tony's unless my husband makes pizza. Great neighborhood staple. We enjoy our pizza well done.
